The number of women I've seen exercising in leotards that weren't already instructors I can count on the fingers of one hand. Mind you, all three of them looked fiiiiiiiinnne, but after 20 years of fitness in Indiana, I ain't holding my breath. The uniform here seem sto be matte black tights and a t-shirt.

I have been doing two pilates classes and a yoga class every week for about six months with the aim of getting enough flexibility to get a more aerodynamic position on the time-trial and road bicycle. The two instructors either wear leotards and tights or a unitard with long legs and so does the rest of the women in the classes. The guys make do with either the short tights or cotton version of a wrestling singlet. It is actually very easy to spot newbies as they are those often wearing loose 'yoga wear'.

The instructors are very adamant that uniform is compulsory since it makes it easier for them to assess and correct the poses. So at least for this studio, unitards and leotards are the norm rather than the exception.

I work out in my own home gym in a wrestling singlet, it's not only the ultimate comfort & cool, but you can totally see your form in every regard...and that includes the changes in your body as the months pass.

It's still hard to imagine that such attire is compulsory, but what a wonderful concept! :D

Australia - North Coast of New South Wales.

It came about due to some injuries due to loose legs snagging on feet and pilates equipment.

Also be sure to join the Saturday and Sunday shop bike rides. Most places have a ratio of 5 or 6 men for every woman. Over here we have an abundance of female triathletes and cyclists, the ratio is closer to 2:1.

That would be a valid reason to wear something tight-fitting. Plus, I do think there's greater freedom of movement with spandex-based articles, which is why I wear it instead of baggy shorts or sweats and a T-shirt.

Oh yeah, I've heard how there are many more women looking for men in Austailia and especially New Zealand...even England offers better odds then here. Just so any of you know, Los Angeles royally sucks when it comes to a guy getting a gal: it seems like there's 25 guys for every girl....the result is a huge inventory of mediocre looking women who get so much attention that they act like Goddesses!

If you're in L.A. and some really attractive and nice gal is friendly, it's about a 95% chance she's from out of town or about to ask you for money (favor). Seriously, this place sucks! You can do so much better ANYWHERE else!

Today I went mountain biking, it was pretty hot out. When I got to the bottom of the hill I turned to come back up..another guy was right next to me. He was about the same size, height and also doing the 3.1-mile climb. I was in just my triathlon suit....he had the baggy shorts with padded liner and t-shirt...I was sleek, cool and moving briskly...he was heavy, slow and literally working against his heat-containing bulky clothing. Spandex is so awesome! :D

I've seen Pilates classes in action, and yeah....there's some weird machine called a reformer. I can't see the dangers, but how can you go wrong wearing spandex? :)

It's also part revenue scheme as well since the instructors have a very lucrative custom fitness wear business where they also make dance costumes, rowing singlets and sport aerobics clothing. The singlets are snug but not skin tight. Even though I'm used to wearing lycra sports clothing, going to the singlet was pretty nerve racking. That said, once in the class, you forget about what you are wearing and concentrate not making an ass out of yourself by getting the poses wrong or tying yourself with the reformer, trapeze table and wunda chair. If you have seen these things, you'll pretty much understand why the instructors don't allow loose clothing.

More than a year down the track and the requirement of wearing form fitting clothing to the yoga and Pilates classes shows no sign of slowing down or stopping.

Now there's two new stores that sell skin tight exercise clothing Lulu Lemon and Lorna Jane. More classes and more women wearing skin tight outfits. Unfortunately leotards are still only being worn by the fittest and most committed practitioners of yoga and Pilates.

Maybe that's a good thing?

What's your favorite kind of spandex video?

Hi guys!

Going through all the different videos and pictures on this site really makes me curious...Which ones are your favorites? I mean there's tons of workout videos and magazine articles, music videos, TV show clips and other mass-media stuff, then there's like amateur porn clips and pictures of girls from spandex parties. What do you like the best and why?

I'm just wondering how you guys see it from your perspective. What would be like, your ideal video?

Spandex Porn and late 80's workout stuff like Body Electric. I'm into colourful shiny ankle length or 3/4 length tights so that pretty much drives my interest and I'm not into the leotard stuff much. I don't like the posed shots and videos as they seem too contrived. But that's just me.

I once found my "ideal video" on Youtube and forgot to bookmark it... now i cant find anymore. It was an amateur video where this guy invited a friend (a beautiful woman too) to try out a unitard for the first time. She tried it and then we would see her being shy at first and then getting a bit aroused... the video would end there. It was not long but I think it represents a fantasy I have of making a woman discover the pleasure of wearing a unitard, and her, getting into it. :oops:
I find that to be extremely hot...

Besides that, i think i like to see women dancing in unitards. I'm not too much into porn. I like ballet and aerobics though. That's my porn equivalent perhaps, as my gf calls it. :roll:

Aerobics all the way! I prefer the late 80's early 90's look. The thong leotard with tights was the sexiest fashion I have ever seen.

I tend to prefer intense fight scenes.

Scripted (movies, pro-wrestling, even cartoons & comic books) or real (women's mma matches). But I prefer real fights.

I enjoy watching women in spandex involved in intense, competitive, sweaty, painful matches with one woman eventually savoring the thrill of victory and the other woman eventually enduring the agony of defeat.

Non-fighting sporting events come in second (volleyball, cycling, track, running etc.).

I have some boxing matches of Mia St. John on DVD -- she's one of the few female boxers that wears spandex shorts and a top in the ring. In her bout with Christy Martin, she actually wore a unitard (short length)!

I also have some DVDs of women's MMA matches from Japan and the U.S... it appears many women wear spandex in these bouts. Japanese female MMA fighters seem to wear more vibrant colors, like shiny yellow spandex shorts and tops, red shiny leggings, silver unitards, etc.; whereas American women tend to wear non-shiny spandex in black, dark blue, gray, black, and more black.

For me, its got to be aerobics video's. Any HOT looking girl in a thong leo does it for me. Working out, stretching so her leo stretches higher is a huge turn on. Leggings are next best, especially on a celebrity like Lindsay Lohan. :P
There is no such thing as 'too tight'.

If anyone has ANY footage of 'aerobics oz style' from the early 90's, let me know..

In my opinion, I like the fitness videos with the chicks who do dress right: Leotards and tights. My hats off to Jane Fonda(from her fitness days),who I think is the "QUEEN OF THE LEOTARD", then there is that Kathy Smith, who is a close second.
